Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine sterile needles into specific locations on the body.

Chinese Medicine believes that the body contains a network of energetic pathways (channels) that regulate body function and maintain health.

Due to lifestyle, diet, emotions, injury and other factors, the channels can become blocked or disrupted, resulting in a disharmonious flow of energy throughout the body.  This causes illness or a feeling of being unwell. Acupuncture restores health by promoting correct energy flow and removing blockages in the channels.

Acupuncture has been recognised by the World Health Organisation as effective in the treatment of many conditions.  In 2002, the World Health Organisation identified acupuncture in its Traditional Medicine Strategy to provide safe, affordable and effective health care to developing nations.
